Skylar Haas

Internal Medicine Technician

Meet Skylar, a proud native of Long Island! Her favorite aspects of Long Island include the beautiful beaches, delicious bagels, and cherished moments with her friends and family. Skylar's passion for animals began at a very young age, as she was always surrounded by a diverse array of pets at home, ranging from dogs and cats to birds and fish.

Long before she can recall, Skylar immersed herself in gymnastics. She continued to pursue the sport competitively throughout her college years and even coached for a year after graduating. Gymnastics instilled in her a strong work ethic and a commitment to dedication, teaching her the importance of perseverance through challenges and maintaining a structured schedule for optimal productivity.

Skylar attended Ursinus College, where she majored in communications. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she found herself spending more time at home with her beloved animals. It was during this time that she realized she felt happiest and most fulfilled in their company, inspiring her to explore a career in veterinary medicine. She secured a position at a local feline-specific practice in Pennsylvania, where she discovered her true passion for helping animals and their owners. Skylar cherished the opportunity to care for her patients and facilitate joyous reunions between them and their families.

Eager to expand her skills and knowledge, Skylar joined the PASE team, enabling her to learn from various specialists and services. She relishes the challenge of problem-solving in advanced veterinary medicine and treasures building meaningful relationships with her patients and their families.
When she’s not working, Skylar is an enthusiastic saltwater angler. She even embarked on a fishing trip to Alaska, where she spent ten exhilarating hours a day, for a week, on the ocean, catching halibut, sea bass, and whatever else the sea had to offer. In addition to fishing, Skylar enjoys watching baseball—she is a devoted Mets fan—and returning to Long Island to soak up the sun on the beach, reconnect with family and friends, and indulge in some quality bagels.

To unwind, she loves immersing herself in a good book or tackling a fun puzzle, all while binge-watching Netflix with her furry companions. Her household includes Bugs, a mischievous four-year-old domestic shorthair who loves to knock things over and make muffins; Beans, a sweet-natured four-year-old domestic shorthair who adores snuggling; and Salt, her rescue guinea pig, who delights in munching on strawberries and welcomes visits from her feline siblings.
